Pursuit sequence start from downtown Alta to Gakori elementary school

Restart from Gakori Elementary school. There's a clear and open path after the school and partially light terrain up to the RV 93 crossing.

After the RV 93 crossing we're on a asphalt road up to Gargia fjellstue.

We leave Gargia on a dirt road all the way to Holgajavrre.

We are using the old mail carrier road to Masi. It's a cart road, overgrown by vegetation but easily spotted. It's possible to go at rather high speed here. After crossing underneath the powerlines we leave the mail carrier road and go on a tractor road all the way till RV93. There are some short stretches of marshes and rivers to be cross here.

We're leaving Suolovuombi on an old dirt road to Masi. The dirt road makes higher speeds possible.

 Masi - Suossjavri

 

After a short stretch of dirt road, we continue on a cart road that turns into a path. The first section offers quite a few metres of climbing. Next up is another old mail carrier road, marked with red T's. This stretch of road offers fair quality singletrack and some marsh crossings. After about 20km we reach the Raggisjokka river. It's got a strong current, so crossing it will get you soaking wet. Next up is the Raggis farm square with it's beautiful old buildings. Make sure you keep a keen eye on your GPS and maps, there are many small footpaths and tracks in the area.

Leaving Raggis we head south towards RV 92. This stretch of road contains another river crossing and a marsh sporting a 200m long timber bridge. The rest of the trail is mainly on moraine ridges.

When the RV 92 is reached, we stay on it eastbound to Suossjavri.

 Suossjavri - Nedre Mollisjok

 

Leaving Suossjavri we go south after the asphalt road towards Cuovdattmuotki.

From Cuovdattmuotki to the Nedre Mollisjok mountain cabin we find one of the best stretches of path for high speed track racing.

 Nedre Mollisjok - Jotka ved vei

 

Here, the of300 part ways with of700. The track now takes us to the east side of Iesjavrre towards Stabbursdalen. This is some of the finest mountain tracks on Finnmarksvidda which makes it possible to ride at a quite fast pace. The last stretch of road towards Bojobæski is rocky and technically demanding.

Leaving Bojobæski, the climb gets tougher in technical terrain. Up on the mountain plateau the road turns into a fast track all the way down to the asphalt road.

 Jotka ved vei - Jotka

 

We leave the asphalt road shortly after the checkpoint and follow a footpath/bike path of fair quality to Jotka mountain cabin. This stretch of road starts with a climb, then turns into a cart road. A steep and rapid decent takes us down to the mountain cabin.

 Jotka - Sorrisniva

 

The track now follows an old mail carrier road southbound towards Iesjavrre. After about 10km, we leave the mail carrier road and enter a path westbound towards the powerplant.

On the construction road from the powerplant, there's a short stretch of asphalt before we continue along an old cart road.

Following the cart road along a rigde all the way to the Bollo cabin village.

There's a tractor road through Bollo and some paths leading to a dirt road to Detsika slate mine. Leaving Detsika we're following an old partially overgrown cart road down to the Alta River. We pass the Sorrisniva tourist park.

 Sorrisniva - Alta

 

Leaving the tourist park we follow the road crossing the Alta River. Here we'll experience the Alta River fishing spots and the quiet exitement of the hunt. This area offers some of the best singletracks in Alta. We cross the Eiby River bridge, and we follow the RV 93 a short stretch before going back down to the river and more singletracks leading up to the Øvre Alta camping site.

14 km

The last stretch towards the finish line continues along the Alta River after having crossed the Øvre alta bridge (Forbygningen). The track continues along dirt roads and paths to the Kronstad part of Alta town. The final stretch of the track offers some technical challenging areas and a narrow path through dense forrest vegetation. We follow "Byløypa" (downtown ski/bike trail) with partial asphalt/dirt road in the forrest.
